Speck ASC-V is a great SSL-style parametric EQ. I’ve been using a pair of these for about 9 months now. I’ve got different styles of 500-series EQs here: pultec, neve and graphic. I use them for different applications, but to my surprise the ASC-V has turned out to be my favourite - the knobs are clearly laid out, it’s versatile, it sounds clean and smooth. I can always get I need from this unit. The Qs can be really sharp when necessary for notching resonances of acoustic instruments and the boosting has always sounded pleasant.

I don’t have any complaints, additional hi- and low-pass filters would be awesome, but this would most certainly clutter up the frontpanel design. I have the units in a 500 rack but you can also use them standalone with an external powersupply, which is a great design feature.
