Solid piece of gear. Considerably better than expected.

Samson Servo 120a

This amplifier was bought to power a pair of JBL Control One Pro passive monitors that are being used for an audio editing station.

The controls on the front panel are very simply laid out with a volume pot for each channel and a speaker in/out button and a headphone socket. The rear panel is has balanced inputs on TRS and unbalanced inputs on RCA. There are two binding posts for bare speaker cables. The only other switch is a mono-bridge button to run the amp in bridged mode.

Switching on momentarily puts the unit in ‘speaker protect mode’.

The sound quality is very very good indeed. Very flat, and very detailed. I was running the Control One’s on a HiFi amplifier, which sounded good, but this amp is better sounding by far.

The build quality is awesome and the unit is only 1U high, so stick is at the bottom of the rack, set the volume and forget about it.

For the money, this amp is a steal!
