Korg DSS-1

3.75 3.75 out of 5, based on 1 Review

The DSS-1 was Korg's first sampling keyboard. 12 Bit adjustable to 6 bit. Despite the mediocre sample quality it has a great sound through the NJM2069 filters as used in the dw series and Poly 800. There was a scsi upgrade in the day but now Tom Virostek upgrade boosts 256K to 16M+ multi-floppy

Korg DSS-1

One of the greatest sounding vintage sampling keyboards. They can be gotten for a few hundred usually. Have it upgraded and you can store samples on sdcards etc. instead of dealing with slow floppy storage. Patches are available off my links unless someone kills the links. Wide variety of sounds but learn to use it and make your own! Fairly detailed standard subtractive synth parameters with keyboard dynamics.3000 dollars in 1986 when I first saw it.
