Superlux PRA 628 MKII by thinkgood
Bought one from Thomann.de in EU. Haven't expected much and was more interested to try a compact guitar amp microphone solution (with this flat profile you can just hang it on the cabinet without using the stand).
Built quality is decent, during 3 years of usage, I just once had to tighten the screws that hold the body to the handle, no other problems appeared. The holder is OK quality and is made out of stiff plastic. Pretty hard to put it on the handle, but, once there, it holds microphone well. Pouch is included. There is a gooseneck holder as well, but it's absolutely unusable and too fragile.
Best description for the sound is neutral, if you point the microphone 2-3 cm from the guitar combo speaker center, you will get an absolute copy of the amp sound in PA without any need to EQ. Really usable with the not-so-loud playing bands. It lacks the mid-punch of the SM57, i5 or the top end clarity of the original 609, so, with a loud playing band you will have difficulties to sit the guitar in the mix (needs some mid bump and compression). Still, very usable on many sources. Tried it on a saxophone, guitar, horns and even vocals with good results.
For the street price (38.- EUR) it's a steal, there is nothing coming close to the built quality and sound in this price range.
