Jean-Philippe, one more thought: of course the experience of members on this forum is valuable. But, recording is not an exact science; it's part craft, part art. Your taste is a crucial part of the equation. It's your space, and your musical vision.

Why not do some testing in advance of the session? Even something as simple as recording one source with various set-ups -- different mics at different distances -- will give you an idea of how the mics will hear the room. This may be useful later, and make you more confident that you will get the result you envision.
