Decision time(Native or not)-Opinions welcome

Hi. I'm putting together a remote rig and am going to use a 2.8GHZ. 8-Core MacPro with 2 expanded 192s for 32 inputs. I had planned to go native and purchased an Avid PT HD Native card. Now I'm having second thoughts and am thinking of purchasing an HD2 Accel setup instead. I don't plan to use many, if any, plugins while recording the tracks as I will take the tracks back to my studio setup for mixing. Any plugins I would use with the remote rig would just be the standard Digi plugs. I'll be using HD24XRs as a backup system.

Would you suggest that I stay with the original "native" plan or would TDM be more reliable for remote work?

Thanks,
Jeff

Lives for gear

If it is strictly for remote and you won't be needing to have the full foldback capabiities with plugins of the tdm rig, I might suggest sticking with native as your money will go much farther....,
