Clueless PA

What I know about PA I could write on a female XLR (the inverse square law)
I have another charity gig coming up
Its a 12hr Folk Festival
Minimal Kit at the local Pub (the Butchers Arms)
One Sonosax SX8 for the FOH (Meyer 500A system)
One Sonosax SX6 for monitor system (2 x Mackie 450's)
SX6 fed from direct ch outs from the SX8.
Lexicon FX from the aux outs from the SX8 returned to the tape ip.
3 xSM58,2x MD441,1x MD421, 2 DI/Pick up.
Monitor mix will be dry.
Last time it was a split of the FOH, my muso mate said this was wrong.
Is this better ?

Borrow something like a small soundcraft, A&H, or Mackie and do the monitors from FOH, running mix off two aux's, the Sonosax, isn't really the right sort of mixer for this job (if I'm not mistaken you have limited sends, and channels). Two DI's for folk music sounds a little short, folk outfits can easily have 2 guitars, 1 mandolin and a violin to boot, possibly even keys these days! Little bit of verb is nice if you can, but something this size I wouldn't sweat it if you can't.

Good luck.

Hey there U, BBC person
In my world, the talent wants the reverb on monitor vox, more than the audience misses it, unless it's space music; if the sx6 has a mono out, I'd put the lexicon in series and daisy-chain the wet signal to the Mackies (on the floor?)
Wouldn't a 6-ch Behringer do what you want, plus keeping the Sonos away from all the ale sloshing about?

That all makes obvious sense
But Im doing this out of the contents of my garage
And its sort of a silly challenge
I like verb/delay and DI and will probably mod to taste
I might daisy the two sonos and the PCM.
I intend to have fun and Joe Meek it a bit.

Had a rethink.
Got a monitor feed from the PCM delay, which is the mixer aux out and can be independently wet/dry.
Dumped the SX6
Made up so more Male XLR to jack leads.
Ta chaps.
