Talking Some new recordings from Lulea Cathedral!

Hi everybody!

Here is two new recording i have done last night, and I wonder what you think about the (recording) sound.
The organist, has given me his permission to publish this recordings.

https://sakerlagring.telia.se/USER/F...older=10528363

I have two DPA 4003 as the main microphones, and one Pearl TL4 stereomic to pick up the acoustics of the cathedral.
DPA:s is connected to, HMA5000 Two-Channel Hi-Voltage Microphone Amplifier, and TL4 to apogee MinMP 2ch preamp.
And then everythings go through FireFace 800 and recorded on a PC.

Thumbs up

I think this sounds great - good job!

I can hear the odd bit of mechanical noise - maybe the organist's feet hitting the pedals? Also the registration changes are audible, but I don't think you can do much about that. Overall I really like it

He's a great player - that improvisation sounds ferocious!

Nicely done! It's great to hear real reverb time in a recording of this nature. 4003's were also used on the Dorian recording of Jean Guillou playing the great organ of Saint Eustache. Did you use the nosecones? How did you get the building so quiet for the ppp hymn section of Finlandia? Great dynamic range!

Are there any good way to get rid of noise, such as feet tap, etc ...

I've found Izotope RX to be pretty effective, but you always run the risk of altering the purity of the sound. To me, it adds to the realism of the performance. So, was the Cathedral really that quiet?

It's Markus Wargh who play, and it's his arrangement on the sibelius.
