Lives for gear
I have 3 SM58s only ever used em once
I hate their poppy propensity and horrid proximity
They have a use though
Only proper mic a dumped was an early MKH 70 which suffered real RF intermod problems especially in Eastern Bloc countries where they broadcast bias frequency RF to dissuade tape recording (Czechoslovakia , Romania and especially Moscow)
Sennheiser revised the RF oscillator later, but I didn't keep it
MKH816 far superior imho
I carried a MD 441 for 20 yrs as emergency back up but never used it
Now have 2 I never use but will not dispose of
I dumped my CCM 4 Li/CCM8 MS pair when I gave up sound for pictures, sometimes a small array would be nice for music, but there is no regret
Wish I had a MKH 800 when I was a Drama Recordist, that would have been useful on a pole.

Roger

Probably could have done all my tele/film work on a DPA 4060 if pushed
on a pole ,on a person ,on a Radio.
That was bulletproof and good sounding
I spent my last years on documentaries with an omni on a pole ,it was brilliant in all wind a weather
