If your weakest link is your source then you have a problem.
If you can adjust, change or fix the input source you have an excellent opportunity to make it sound fantastic.

That's the real world. I'm with you 100% on this!!
Oh, just finished my 7th NBC Christmas tree lighting special. I was mixing monitors for the Rink stage again this year, but instead of a house band, it was a slew of acts changing constantly. If you saw & heard it, you know what I'm talking about. Live TV production, be it sports or a specialty show like the one we finished last night, is like going to war, and all you can do is bust your butt and do your best, giving 110% constantly and trying to look ahead while listening to a director call the show instead of your audio sources. It's a tough business, but it's OUR business!
