Without belaboring what is clearly a pretty solid consensus/explanation, it looks like the "approximated ORTF" is simply due to the stereo bar being one of those small variety, which can only make a proper ORTF as a base which takes advantage of the length of small diaphragm pencil mics to achieve the necessary width and angle...

At the risk of pedantry, “other stereo bars are available”, two mic stands would also have been a possibility. I’m not sure that if it was more accurate it would have made any real difference to the end result.

Looks about 12-13 cm. Sounded pretty good. Not a lot of standards for guitar quartet stereo patterns. Those Shures are nice mics.
