manfrotto 154b

Anyone know where I can get black anodised alloy bars (the same diameter as the bar the 154B comes with) in the UK to make this product longer?

I've the same problem. The diameter of this bar is a mistake.

Many of us simply buy the extension tube that goes on top. I picked up a 9 foot for about $20 at B&H photo.

Manfrotto makes extension tubes, download a catalog, there are plenty of places online to find the parts.

No and I'm not buying the bar until I know there is an extension. The threads above are encouraging. I have unsuccessfully navigated my way round Manfrotto's site and not been able to work out if their autopole extension 2m bar is the same thickness as the 154b bar.

So I emailed Manfrotto. I'll let you know when I get a reply. In the meantime if you find a link to the product and are sure it is the right fit, please post it.

By the way, is it possible to add bits to this bar to make a decca tree? it looks like you could buy 2 and stack one centre fixing onto the other?

actually it'd be 65cm x 65cm if I started with 2 so I'd have to get at least the 2m bar as well - if it fits! But I'd also have 5 mic mounts in total, which is a bonus

This website surely partially exists to help those in the dark escape from dealing with idiots......if only the people above had just pointed me to the product that they know of, then I would have avoided this rubbish

Dear Mr Gilbert,

I’m afraid that I can’t see anything in the catalogues or the website that will fit into the ends of the 154B.

Sorry I can’t help any more.

Kind Regards

Dear Mr Gilbert,

Do you have the Manfrotto code for the extension bar?

Hello

It is the 2m bar extension that I want to know if it is the same diameter as the bar that comes with the 154b. The 154b bar is not long enough.

Dear Mr Gilbert,

Thank you for your enquiry into Manfrotto products.

The 154B is in stock in the UK. I would advise using our 'Where to Buy' tab on our website Professional Tripods, Tripod Heads & Lighting Accessories | Manfrotto <http://www.manfrotto.co.uk> to find your nearest dealer to place an order.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards

So when you all are saying you're turning it into a decca tree, you're talking about:

1) finding a 2m bar to replace the 27" one that comes with the 154b

and then

2) attaching an extension bar the front of it (099b?)

Right?

Wow, this lucky guy is accidentally 1 part from a decca tree! Whodathunkit.

Thanks all

I think you need step 2 to be 'buy another 154b'? And so your step 2 would be step 3 but I think 099b would be wrong unless you mean to just take a 1m piece from it and discard the rest? Does it have a 1m piece?

Is the bar in your 154b 40mm in diameter?

If you mean "which part of the 099b", it would attach to the front or back of the unit. They have this nice little metal piece that has a universal fit to the sockets on the 154, the 099 and comes stock as the top of all their other stands.

Does the 154B fit onto a standard microphone stand? Will a cheap adaptor of some kind be necessary for it fit onto the stand, or to place shockmounts/mic clips to the attachments?

Thanks,

Brian

I does in most circumstances. It attaches with a tightening screw in the middle connector. It will fit on a 5/8" bar as long as that bar is long enough to reach the tightening screw. If the stand has any special connectors on the end, such as a thread stop ring, the bar will not attach.

Part #'s?

Why let a good thread go unused?

I'd like to buy a 154b bar to go with my Manfrotto stands (currently have a Sabra Som bar I use on top).

The thing is, I'd like to have 4 additional mic attachment points. Does anyone know what the part number is for the attachment devices that come with the 154b? Actually, I guess there are two part numbers, one for the center device, and another one for the two lateral devices.

I checked the Manfrotto site, but that specific info doesn't seem to be readily apparent. I have also inquired from Manfrotto, and am awaiting a reaponse. Perhaps, someone here already knows the answer.

Thank you.

Regards,

DG

Thank you, sir.

I still don't see it as an orderable component at Manfrotto, but I will inquire about purchasing several of those devices.
