Help me identify this hip hop song

Out of the blue, I've been trying to find that song. Can't really remember how the melody goes but I'll know if I hear it again.

It's got a catchy meoldy with a high pitched female vocal (it sounds like samples with a shifted pitch) during the chorus parts, kind of similar to Akon's "Mr. Lonely" but with a faster tempo like "Sweetest Girl". I heard the song back in 2009 and 2010.

Much appreciated if you guys can help. Thanks.

I wish I could provide more info or lyrics but I just don't seem to recall any of it. I don't know who the artist was. I even try to look it up online by descriptions but no success. I only heard the song on the radio I think it was played from 2009 to 2010; or maybe even 2008.

The hook/catchy part/chorus/whatever you want to call it has a (i think) female vocal that has been pitch shifted (think chipmunk), it could even be a sample of old records. I don't really know how else to describe it. I find the chorus kind of catchy and melodic.

It would be nice if you can give links of songs that you think might fit the description.

Thanks!

No. It's quite similar though. But I think the high pitched vocal only comes on a few lines, not throughout the entire song. I don't quite remember exactly how it goes but when the high pitched vocal comes on, the rapping stops, vice versa.

Wish I could remember more details about the song, but.... please do throw out some more....

it has 'yo yo' in the intro and a drum loop to which they rap later on in the song.

then there's a horn sample.

Not quite. I don't think the lyrics had any profanities inthere. And, as I mentioned in my initial post, it's similar to Akon's "Sweetest Girl" song. Wish I could give more details....

More please.... ?heh

Was it on a hip-hop station or a top 40 station? If you know what station you were most likely listening to then you could check the billboard charts of what was playing during that time period. There's a pretty limited variety that actually gets radio play so it shouldn't be too hard to narrow it down.

Wish I knew. I don't remember much about the song other than what I've already stated earlier. I don't even remember how the intro begins. It's bothering me how I just can't remember the melody or lyrics but know it if I hear the pitch shift female vocal chorus part.

I'm going through the billboard chart list right now from 2009 to 2010 but still haven't found it yet. I only heard the song on the radio going to work. It's not a very hardcore hip hop song. I just find the pitch shift part catchy. As mentioned earlier, the style is similar to Akon's "Sweetest Girl".

Perhaps if I listen to a few songs played during that time, maybe it might ring a bell?

By chance, do you know the name of one of the hip hop song that says something, like... "the great escape; leave the rest behind.. etc"? I remember listening to something like that during that time along with the song I'm searching for. Not sure if they're the same artist though. Or, another song by a female artist singing "Battlefield"? Not sure if that's the title of the song.

I was not really into hip hop that much at that time but I did find these songs catchy.

I appreciate your help.
