dre beats or beyer dt 770's?

I have a very old pair of ath-m40fs and I like them but I would really like to have the opinion of a producer about the drebeats; I would like to have that kind of big sound/big bass when sequencing drums and brainstorming beats at night!

I see where you're coming from, but using a bass heavy monitoring system you run the risk of all your stuff coming out light in the bass region when played on other systems.

At the end of the day it's what you're comfortable with and what you know.

To answer the OP, I'd say the 770s for mixing and the Dre joints for listening.

Agreed. I have the 770's, and have listened on the Dre's more than a few times. I prefer the 770's when I need to mix with the cans on.
