Any recommendations for usb midi-controllers/drum triggers??

specifically looking for something for making drum patterns with. I was looking at the korg nanopad but wanted to see if there are any better options. Is the akai mpd 24 a good choice?

kind of depends on your needs/budget. if you just want pads, i'd go with the korg padcontrol. if you need all the knobs and sliders, the mpds are decent IF you get a pad sensitivity upgrade. i wouldn't really use an mpd without modding it.

Maschine.

It is a PadKontrol on steroids. Its the best software option right now. If for some reason youonly have $100 to spend then go with PadKontrol. I personally wouldnt buy anything in between though.

the mpd has really terrible sensitivity straight from the factory, so people sell thin rubber squares that you stick under the pads, to fill the air gap between the pads and sensors, so the pads don't have to be smashed in order to trigger them.

MPDs have the least responsive pads out of all of them.

Maschine has the most responsive pads followed by padkontrol and triggerfinger, in that order.
