My "Hip-Hop" New Years Resolution! What's yours?

This is for New Years Resolutions as they pertain to music. Hip-Hop or whatever. What will you do in 2011 to step to the next level?...

Mine is to continue learning to read and write music and to write my first score by the end of 2011. Every time I watch a movie, I miss parts of it because I'm too sucked into the score. It's simply amazing the stuff composers do. It blows my mind. Hopefully I will at least be able to perform more of the live parts of my own production instead of running into these walls of creativity waiting on live musicians or dealing with those that flat out suck.

I played GTR in the late 80's. Been working on piano...plan to pick up the bass sometime soon. Reading and writing is the one aspect of music that still keeps me inspired.

The only thing I know for sure...is it won't make me worse. Downside is, the more I learn, the more bored I become with the simple nature of Hip-Hop.

I think mine is to once and for all stop chasing the ghost of hardware and focus on using my time to learn my software the best I can.

basically the same thing on my resolution lol
Also to master pro tools to a point where i only need pro tools for ALL audio needs, no more switiching from DAW to DAW for the convinence.
Also to not buy A SINGLE vst or sound the entire year. Just learning how to tweak sounds. I tweaked a guitar today, i had it sounding like some wierd ass instrument lol

Mine is to stop writing down long lists of gear that i tell myself i'm getting when i'm really lying to myself!

Focus more on the music! Less Gearslutz and more branding myself and getting out and networking amongst real people!

Its now or never!

Oh and most importantly stop spending huge bucks on workstations etc looking for sounds and learn what i have in creating new ones!

By the end of 2011 I'd like to receive some monetary compensation for creating music.

As nice as it is to get weed or liquor for beats, I think Im ready to step up

Stop 'needing' this or that.
Stop spending more time on set up and reading manuals than I do writing.
Put out a decent remix tape.

chill out and continue to enjoy music

Encouraging music (played/composed) on tracks rather than sampling. Encouraging HipHop producers to learn instruments and play them properly. They have a huge cross over advantage then.

determination - putting more energy into each track to make it as hot as possible and really conceptualizing songs instead of just sitting down and seeing what comes out every time
using the ASR 88 (asr 10) i recently copped to produce instead of Ableton which ive been using for years
sampling vinyl into the asr

basically switching up my whole workflow....
don't gotta worry about striving to make more music so much cause that just happens naturally =]

so pumped for 2011 ! ! !

To me, resolutions are like rules..they're made to be broken. I don't do the resolution thing anymore. We all know what we have to do to make ourselves better. We shouldn't need a new date on the calander to do it. I wasn't born Jan 1st so a new year to me is my birthday. That being said, I hope everyone has a great 2011 and have the most productive year ever regardless of your resolution. If you have a resolution, dont be like me. Stick to it. GOOD LUCK FELLAS!

I don't know, maybe my resolution will be to quit rap altogether. Too much drama and too many sheep.
