this plug sounds VERY good,

i don't like the presets

the eq sounds good on the vox (well it's meant for that no?)

the preamp/loadness option gives some nice compression on vox, the deesser is alright like the reverb and the delay as well

i did not try the pitch correction tho

my vocal chain is
uad pultec or waves api 550b
uad la2a or tubetech cl1b
waves rdeesser

and i have it sent to 1176 for parallel compression
breverb reverb
fabfilter delay

but i get better result with only using nectar..

+1 for this amazing plug

btw i'm not a fan of ozone but this is a super amazing plug from izotope

Running the demo...

iZotope looks to have gotten it right three times in a row: Ozone, Alloy and now Nectar.

VERY nice plugl; not to be compared to the Waves Signature Series. tutt

It was nice, but having the waves cla stuff, I think I like the waves plugs much better.

grabbed the demo....

sounds great, but it locked up my project!

the channel strip had alloy, cla 1176, logic eq, logic de-ess, logic noise gate.....and that was fine.

turning those off, and ONLY using nectar.....the project wouldn't play for more than 1 second.

ugh.

i still may grab it for the intro price. we'll see how it goes.

tried it, and loved it for it's simplicity so you can just get things sounding right quickly in front of a client. you can do more tweaking with other plugs later if necessary

Well there are differences but Nectar and the waves cla, kramer and maserati plugs for vocals are billed as vocal processors. I put them all on the same vocals in a mix and a,b,c,d'd them and for my money, cla is head and shoulders above the pack for just making the vocal sound good and sit in the mix nicely. Nectar is not too expensive and I'm sure it's useful...I just think the waves stuff sounds better. Just like I think my UAD and waves plugs sound much better than Ozone 4 which I never use anymore.

Cool.That makes sense.
I gotta tell ya....Ive got so many ****ing plug ins in my arsenal that now I sometimes just feel like removing them to another folder on another drive, cleaning my drive and just starting from scratch and installing ONLY the ones I use most of the time.

Izotope Nectar

Ha!

I hear that.

Since my comp was locking up, I was seriously thinking about a clean OSx install.

Having said that, I'd rather just get a new Mac :-)

I am going to do that. I have been getting plugs since 2000 and I just need to let go of stuff that I never use anymore.

Its like dope,an addiction.
I might as well put the plugs in a ****ing syringe and inject them, but they only work with a dongle!!
I gotta have it...I gotta get it...the latest,the greatest,the dopist..some hopeist..oops,gotta check my rhymes.
I guess the jigga is up!!

haha..well I have always been a producer and not really an engineer. So having a million plugs and a vocal chain with 5 inserts is overkill and no fun. I have a decent mic collection, a decent pre and no reason to not get great sounding vocals besides my own excuses.

If you are saying that I could just use this plugin to process my vocals and can throw out the other stuff, than I am going to demo this puppy. As technology gets more and more advanced, I am preferring to simplify the production process instead of diving into a milllion plugs. I respect how an engineer has the time to try different plug combos out on different tracks, but I am looking for more efficient ways to make good mixes.

Bought this for my little brother and he's been loving it. Haven't spent much time with it personally yet but been fairly impressed with what I have heard.

My brother doesn't know how a compressor works or anything...he's just in a small band and they record their own stuff. He's gotten very good results from presets and then tweaking the basic parameters - obviously not perfect but pretty damn good considering. He played me a few tracks last night and I was amazed how 'pro' it sounded (maybe pro is the wrong word though...) He does rock/'indie' type stuff.

Will be digging into the advanced settings today if I have time. $200 bucks is a steal considering how much you get.

THis is just another tool to add to a collection and at only 2 bills its priced right for what it does. Plus.....i never really like the way Ozone did vocal correction

Just tried it out on a few vocal tracks. I'm very impressesed in how many good features it has (EQ, Comp, Limiter, Delay, Reverb, ect.)

However, I was not satisfied with any of the hip-hop presets. That might be just me though, i'm sure there will be others who will find them amazing.
I think this plugin is perfect for the amateur artist, it's easy and has tweakable presets.

Im just sticking to my plugin chain
Audition's EQ -> RVox -> Any effects necessary

well, i spent around 20 grands on plugz so far... so i believe i have pretty good experience with them...
there are plugz that i don't like too, so i don't get excited with every new plug...
i wasn't too impressed by nectar, but as been mentioned it does the job perfectly for $200.
imagine if u wanted to buy some uad eq, compressor, reverb, delay (assuming u have the card already) would cost u alot more ofcourse... but i personally think ppl can do almost the same job with nectar...
i didn't buy nectar cause i have already spend on other plugz, i don't think nectar is an impressive improvement, but i think if u have only nectar for example, buying other stuff for your vocal chain are not impressive improvements as well...

philly what do u think about nectar "compared" to your other plugz?

and yes people complain about presets...

well if you wanna judge a plug by its presets, or your audio production is based on presets, change your hobby, or your profession from audio production...
