6AU6A pix

Thank you guys,

s0nguy,
I will check "KORBY store". It will helps a lot.
SONY Japan discontinued supporting C-800G because it is too old products for them to take care of. They don't provide Tubes either.
Now I hate SONY as a company.

DAH,
If you could find the Russian tubes that is used in C800G, will be GREAT!!
I took some pix, I'm not sure if it helps or not though.

There we can see numbers on the bottom.(mine, 1 looks like 10, the other 18)
Just like <> Telefunken tubes.

Thanks!

If those tubes in Sony C800G are 65 mm long in total with pins, then the ones I found fit. Anyway I think one will have to buy a couple to select the low-noise non microphonic one. What does Sony or whoever services C800G ask for changing the tube?

Last time I replaced a tube in the c800(which is a bit of a pain in the ass), you could only get the tubes from Sony and they weren't cheap. You guys telling me you can't get tubes from Sony anymore?

If yall find a source for tubes that work well, let me know. It's gonna be about time to replace again soon.

Are they stopping to provide tubes? This might really hurt them in the long run. Because of this people might go with Manley instead.

Right.

In Japan, SONY is not gonna provide tubes for C-800G users any more.
They will not accept any requests of repair/maintenance also.
Actually, they don't sell C-800G any longer. It's been a while since they discontinued C-800G.
(The reason they had to discontinue C-800G is for the environment issue. I want SONY to continue C-800G, it's probably better than leaking radioactive substances IMO.)

Now, C-800G/9X is avail as current new model, but a SONY guy told me that the current model"C-800G/9X" doesn't sound good as the original C-800G.
They take care of C-800G/9X, though they don't the original C-800G.

I need to find Tubes for my C-800G...sigh..
and U know what, C-800G/9X uses same tubes as C-800G.
...what's going on in this world...?

Hmm somehow I call this bs honestly. The C-800g/9x not sounding as good as the old one? Post some clips then. I've used a new and an older one and they sounded exactly the same, same tube in it etc.

Why are you posting in every thread about the c800g, bashing them if you have one yourself? You bought the mic, now deal with the consequences.

Thank you for responding!

Because you've used a new and an older one, you don't need to ask for some clips I guess.
FYI,
C-800G/9X uses same diaphragm, same tubes as C-800G, but the circuit is changed and some parts are replaced to others, and the changes caused the sound difference between the Original and /9X according to SONY service.

I don't care the difference between.
The point is that how to deal with the consequences now.
I don't wanna dump my C-800G because we cannot get tubes replaced.

Do you have any information like where my C-800G get treated properly?
Do you know any SONY services in USA accepting C-800Gs yet?
Any information would be appreciated than snappy bashing comment to me.

Best regards.

You can as you have already been linked in another thread to a Bulgarian valve lot on eBay. 6J4P - they are the right valve type.

Show the guts, I have a hard time believing that they switched the circuits.

That's what I'm questioning. They stopped for a year I think then they restarted.

@LeMauce : I translated the page to English in other thread regarding c800g/9x. Site states lead time on an order direct from Sony Japan is up to 4 months
