Waves C4 distortion

While the C4 is great on vocals I notice it tends to distort sibilance with ARC on.

Actually I tend to dislike ARC on most Waves plugins, but I feel weird for thinking that, like I need to get some kind of use of it.

Anyone know what I'm talking about or am I trippin

I don't use any Waves stuff but to my understanding the ARC, being auto release control, perhaps is in some way mishandling low frequencies with too short of a release at those given moments of distortion you are hearing. That's my conjecture...

ARC is only placed on the 2bus (Master Fader!!)
Its a ROOM CORRECTION app and you MUST know your shit when using it.

I don't think he's talking about the "room correction" software by IK.
'ARC' is an automatic function parameter on the Waves C4 compressor that adjusts release times according to the program material changes.

It never hurts to check the ARC and hear what it's doing. It's a variable release so it can be more versatile than the "manual" settings. That said, I don't use it very much.
