Plugin emulating a Ensoniq DP/4+

This popular unit has never seen its compressor character, nor its signature multistaged phaser / flanger copied or virtualised.

The only plugin that got close to the Multistage Phaser I know is the Bram DeJong SupaPhaser 3.0... But it's still not quite there yet.

I wish Universal Audio or any independant dev could bring a DP/4+ Plugin to life... (I'm double-posting this in KVR in this purpose).

I'd love to have thins in my palette. What about you ?

I would love to have this as a plugin or as a hardware unit. I bought one but had to send it back due to a dead channel. It has that oh so lovely vintage sound. I have to have another.

I guess... But, it's nothing that special.

There are other units I would much rather see emulated.

I bought my ASR`X Pro when they first came out...at the same time the MPC 2000 came out and chose the ASR because among other things, the chromatic keys and the sounds were great for me.
I still use it for certain apps including the DP4.

How much would it cost me to hire 1 or 2 Devs / Ingineers to develop / modelize such a plugin ? $5 to 10K ? More ?

Maybe that E-Mu should stop sitting on this goldmine and detach one of their A-Team Devs to do this job.

I wanted to keep the API Lunchbox for myself aswell... Then Waves ruined it. But it only lasted a couple Years, and then the "hype" phenomena was gone, and it's now a "secret weapon" again

"big new sound" from 20+ year old emulated gear....???

people know about ASR-10's, they buy them JUST for effects my dude. You can have a DPS for $200 or an EPS-16 for even less. Same effects.

You aren't exactly holding the best kept secret.

Stop deluding yourself.

I know certain people buy them for the sound

I did

But most dont

Especially all the newbs with fruityloops, waves, and autotune

I kno thier not secret either but most people that have them are deeper into beatmaking or dont want to do the xtra work for hardware sound benefits

I dont want the dp4 sound to be thd next waves or nomad bundle that every bum amatuer got just becuz thier fav producer Vanilla Dutches uses it

Ya kno

I was joking, but honestly...If I were to get famous I would love for people to bite my sound. That's what being influential is about.

Anyways...

I made a track with nothing but an Asr-X, using the effects extensively. If y'all want, I can post it up to show the effects and review the machine/effects in depth since they are so misunderstood.
