Good Studio Chair?

This is kinda a stupid question but I was wondering what chairs everyone is using in their studios. Me Im in my bedroom using this uncomfortable wooden chair and it's time to upgrade haha. I know there are some real expensive chairs out there but Im looking to maybe spend 100-150$ on one but yea, just interested in what ya'll got. PEACE

I don't think it's a stupid question, although it might belong in another forum. I got mine at a discount office supply store: they sell new stuff that has blemishes, scratches, and scuff marks, etc. I spent over $200. You can spend a lot more. I don't think you should take shorts when it comes to chairs, since you spend so much time in them. I think it helps to think of your chair as just another piece of studio gear. Spend as much time researching a chair as you would a synth. That might be overstating it some, but hopefully you get my point.

I usually get the $50 Officemax chairs. Not super comfy but not very bulky either. The problem is they really wear after 3-4 years. A high quality office chair will last much longer. I like the low arm rests personally since I am often moving around side to side.

I got mine at Costco and love it...it was just under $200. I also think it's important...how can you work with a hurt backass?

My older brother has ones of those, so easy to sit in one for hours on end.

Definitely NOT a stupid question. And here's my answer - which is really weird, but I swear up and down left and right by it.

A yoga ball.

1. It keeps your posture aligned.
2. It forces you to take breaks.

Aerons are the biz. If you in it a lot its worth the cash. . .the biggest thing is that it breaths, so your ass wont get sweaty.

Pretty sure they come with a 12 year warranty.

We are pricing some up for the radio station I work at, and they mentioned the 12 year warranty.

i would look for something used on craigslist or ebay. Lots of offices close and just give away tons of crap including some nice chairs. My brother in law snagged 3 office chairs when the above floor shutdown. They all were worth $300 a piece. Just look around and you might find a steal.

I don't have time to read all these replies, but you can get the Herman Miller Aeron used off Craigslist for $300 to $400--TOTALLY worth it.

My parents bought me a great chair for Christmas a few years ago. Nice and comfortable with lumbar support. You can adjust the height as well. Just go to an office store and you should be able to find a nice chair at a pretty decent price.

Herman Miller Aeron Chair, hands down the best chair to sit in all day long. Just watch out for your heavy set clients, a new seat pan will cost you $300!
