Sorry for the vent I just hate that process I am sure you would agree Philly.
Dude I hate it too man, but hey, this is what happens if you don't know any Great Producers around who are willing to get you as an assistant. I've been doing pretty good whoring myself up, I just feel that there are many ways to get out there, and many different directions can be taken to get to the same goal.

Studio scene here is weird... Teddy's place still looks like the day after the fire.
Kinda sad, especially in light of MJ's pasing.

Re: Clap Trap, I think we know the same guy!

I'm planning another run up north towards the end of the month and would love to stop through. GC is doing a show here this fall, so maybe I'll see our friend Ebie!

Thanks guys!
PM if you need a claptrap module

My thread summary

Suggested
6 (minimum 3) mufukkas around a 414 (or 87) set on omni
2 people 2 ft from the mic (claps or finger snaps) for a clear dry clap or snap
2 aggressive people 8-12 feet back to the left and 2 to the right (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZiiqAMrknY) in a triangle outward position from the mic
Place mics and people in the room and listen to them clapping in the control room

Record two tracks all the way through
and pan hard left and right

Try
White noise generator->Kepex->parametric EQ->VCA compression (DBX 160 VU?)->parametric EQ and live chamber
Loop clapping audience (e.g. TV show or concert) and gate/sidechain using snare and set release to taste
Use 2x4's wood pieces and smack them together (George Clinton/Parliament)
Trigger a Claptrap by Simmons using the snare
Vocal booth with 3-6 people clapping around a 414

Record a pass all the way through and then double it panned hard left and right.
Done deal.

Another trick is to put up a tape loop of a clapping audience like from a tv show or a concert and then just key it with the snare drum. and gate the release to taste
Done deal
