he still does ... the first time I worked with Jon was editing live drum parts on ProTools for a rufus wainwright record ... Jon is so so talented and a monster in the studio when it comes to making sure everything is right !

rappers frequently frequently brag *on* their albums, so it's no surprise that a rapper would brag *about* their album

when's the last time you heard a rapper rhyme something like this:

"i got a reasonably-priced sedan, good on gas
everything i do is second class"

Better question is, how much better would Hip-Hop be, if they did? Hmmmm...

How could one destroy the beauty from which one came?
That's a savage you're the reason why I rhyme above average
Why me and these beats make a marriage
and still, I ain't s**t
I'm glad you got yourself together no thanks to me,
You're strong and beautiful the way things should be.

Jay-Z wrote this for his mom while lamenting the fact that he used to sell her drugs. This was back when Jay-z had more to talk about than jewelry, clothes, and how he's the best rapper ever.

IMHO Kanye is garbage, his beats are usually pretty average and his rhymes are below average. People like this feel the need to brag a lot, but deep down inside they know something's missing.
