R U for real?????
Those pres suck big time.

If you want a pre with punch get a Great River or a Sebatron.
They are the best pres for the money.

LOL...man. I can truely say I'm having fun being back on Gearslutz. I have been laughing quite a bit the last few days.

Myfist ! Please edit your words so we can understand you better.

And you'll just have to try a few preamps for yourself. Folks can recommend a ton of preamps, but how will you know if it has "Punch and Warmth" ??

Well, actually those pres are good enough if you know what you're doing. I don't think that most people who are asking for preamp advice are ready to spend a grip on **** they don't know how to use. But a whole bunch of knuckleheads do, and the gear dealers stay happy. I'd say spend the money on a nice mic before a gd pre anyday. But before that, learn how to record.

Some true ****ing wisdom from Mister T. Dizzle. thumbsup

If you read any advice on recording from the true masters they always say it is all KNOWLEDGE. Gear of course is important but it doesn't make a hit record. That takes experience and knowledge....especially knowledge of your own rig.

I get tired of the constant pre-chasing.

Pres don't make hit records.....gray matter does.
