Rock cat writes slammin beats but is industry idiot.

I'm a professional recording engineer. A year ago, I became interested in making beats. I've had some serious producers come through my studio and go ape when they've heard the stuff so I think I'm ready to sell. preferably online.

I have a few questions.

#1 can anyone suggest any references on selling beats. (or give any advice) I don't feel I have a good command of the industry. That could really put me at a disadvantage.

#2 I'm considering using GiveMeBeats.com. Are there any alternatives or advice anyone can give me in terms of selling stuff online?'

#3 While surfing givemebeats, I've seen a lot of people selling beats for about 25. But most of them appear to be some idiot hitting buttons in reason. Does that mean I should try and sell for more or do I have to make a name for myself first?

thanks

if you are that good, and already in the industry.

do not use the net.

Find yourself some representation.

I do have one rap in that sells beats (he's just a degree away. ) Thats very good advice though. unfortunately most of the people who come through are the type that BUY beats. It just seems to easy to pass up.

you're in a much better position then you think. Just pass on a few to your clients. Sell the beat and throw in the recording and mixing for free. package deal per song.
