It works fine here! In combination with RME asio driver on a CORE2DUO pc.

There are some OLD (some free) plugins that can still make it crash, and I know when I load them up, that I have to safe often... Sometimes when I use the automation on OLD plugs it will crash (just like SX3 did, but way LESS often). Still I use them, and finish in the end.

I'm very happy with Cubase 4.

but that is me,

I am definitely happy with C4 as well. Even tho, I highly reccomend to get a very fast CPU and a lot of RAM.
I never heard any complains from MAC users, even tho some PC people seem to have certain issues with C4.

Overall, a brilliant software tho imho.

Agreed! I'm having a great time with Cubase 4 on my Intel Mac. The cue mix "Studio" feature, and being able to drag insert effects between slots or even tracks, both are fantastic new additions. In my humble opinion of course.

Those of you with C4 and haven't had problems on a PC: are you running Vista or XPsp2?

I'm tempted to upgrade from Cubase 3 and I'm not about to upgrade to Vista.

I don't need the studio monitoring features as I have an external mixer. Although the drag and drop effects would save me a lot of time mixing.

I also wonder if the standard EQ is much better than the one in SX3. Or just better summing qualilty overal?

on xp... it's working pretty good here.

about upgrading:

A client tried to load a SX3 (crack) song, into my SX4... and for some reason it got stuck loading (total computer crash)... he had to go back to his place and make bounces... and I had to reset...

i don't know... upgradin allways sucks if you have beginnings of old songs that you wanna finish sometime...
