Drums. Snare. Drum Machines.

It's a question for connoisseurs. What kind of drum machine can make such a snare?

No idea, none of the classics have that sound. Why don't you just sample that wav file?

I found this snare in the Lord Finesse Drum Kit library, and I wondered how it was made. I think it was definitely not cut from the classic drum break. I've seen it on a lot of modern boom-bap tracks, and I don't know how it was made at all.

Its just a dark, deep snare (6" to 8') with reverb to me (dark reverb). It is what i hear at least...

It sounds like an acoustic snare sample that could've come from literally anywhere, not necessarily a drum machine. A lot of reverb added.

Sounds like the Zimba ku snare to me. So no drum machine. It’s a drum break chopped and with reverb added

Definitely sounds off of a record. Maybe “dump truck” style ie a kick from this record and a snare off a different record. Definitely record based sounds

It sounds like a basic sample with a lot of reverb added to it. It does not sound like it went through a special machine like a sp1200 or an early linn drum machine or something like that.

How are you going to send something through a linn drum?!

By burning eproms?!

The Linn Drum snare when pitched right down sounds like someone shovelling gravel onto a driveway. It's glorious and awesome fun to play live, you can even sequence it with a BSP for chromatic jungle style stuff
