chopping samples from a midi controller knob/encoder (sample start/end points)

Thought all of you might appreciate this thread I made in the Music Computers sub-forum here at GS. It relates completely to drum sampler plugins, and which ones have the functionality, and which ones do not. This is about manual sample chopping (MPC-style), not slicing, which a lot of them do offer. Slicing is great but manually making your chops is more fun, rewarding, and hands-on (and I know all of you can agree on that).

My question is.. why the hell is using a midi controller for start/end so blatantly ignored by a vast majority of them?

Enjoy the post and please add your comments!

bumping this post again!

Since posting, two good things happened:

1. Poise (One Small Clue) is now FREE.

2. Akai released the free MPC Beats (which, I have to say, really impressed me... and still does)... check out the link in the first post here, to read my follow-up!

Hope you all are staying safe and healthy out there!!
