How to get this distorted effect on the vocal?

Here's the video. I'm referring to the vocal getting overshadowed by the bass.

It could be created by the mic of the camera/cellphone (I often hear this effect in live concerts shot by phones), but I'm trying to recreate it in studio and I thought it would have been easier.

The vocal distorts only when the bass comes, so I tried to sidechain it with a compressor and I automated a clipper along with the bass, but it doesn't have that filthy, raw distortion that has in the video (I have used a different vocal, but you can hear it that it is quite different).

Here's my clip.

Any suggestions?

Do not side-chain with a compressor plugin and side-chain with a distortion or saturation plugin.
