That's why I use Sweetwater.

I can order and pay of a Friday night and it's here on my doorstep on Tuesday morning.

Not bad for FedEx and why I continue to use there service.

Cheers
I use American Musical Supply first. They are speedy on deliveries.

Here in Toronto, Canada. MPCX $2,599 + 13% tax = $2,936.87

That's roughly the same as the MSRP of $2,200 here in the US. Not out of line by any means.

Musician's friend sent me a 20% coupon just awhile ago.

I was really tempted to pre-order the MPC X with that - would have been $1,760...a very fair price I'd say.

Instead, I used it to order an Elektron Analog RYTM, to go along with the Analog 4 and Heat I got a month ago.

I do like the feature set of the MPC X, especially all the tactile controllers it has, and the sick touch screen, and maybe down the line I'll bite. I'll let y'all fanatics work out the kinks in the mean time.

dude...$2,936.87 CAD = $2239.64 USD

If you pay tax in the States, it would easily exceed that price.

Online or local? Wasn't aware anyone was accepting orders on it yet... as Canadians, we may not be seeing any on this side of the border until late Spring.

I'm not going to get in to the debate.

I have a studio. I have a ton of analog outboard gear, synths, amps, keyboards, instruments etc.. I don't sell gear to buy gear. I buy gear to buy gear.

Personally I think this is going to be a fun box for me to add with all the gear I have an the workflow it presents.

Just hoping it works.

2 places I've found so far.

Akai MPC X | PAShop.com - Canada's Pro A/V, Stage & Studio Store

And you are right. Everyone I talked to says they won't be getting it until the Spring/Summer.

$3k CAD = $2287.78 USD

...again not out of line by any means, and a reasonable markup considering you guys don't have to deal with an orange thingy as your leader.

Yeah man it's awesome.

Frankly, I think it's more powerful as an automatable filter/envelope follower box, than just for its saturation and distortion abilities.

An absolute bargain for all that it can do, IME...

If it would save us a few hundred bucks over here, we could trade leaders!

Sweetwater is the largest online retailer and my guess is that they would be getting the lions share of the first batch.

^ Masada's Q&A from last night.

As for 2.0 not being "finished" yet...my best guess is that it has been done – otherwise it'd be foolish to announce new products, talk about shipping dates etc.
My guess is they want "finishing" it to coincide with the shop date of the new units to maximize hype...so you can buy the new MPC and get the software that hasn't been out previously.

I know. I was one of the early "beta testers" and kick their butts about it. You can thank me for alternating loop that they implemented
