I have boot camp just in case but I look at it like this. If you can't support the Mac OS then I can't support your products. Granted it's freeware...but F using windows. That's one of the reasons why Sonic Foundry didn't do so well.

Too each his own, my friend. I have noticed alot of HD bandwagon riders, who all of a sudden jumped back to pc and has been happy since!

why? Use the plugs for what they are and stop trying to compare them to the real thing. There is no comparision...and yes Ive used all the hardware versions extensively.

not surprising in the least...IMO, I get more out of plugs that do what they do (massey, eliosound, mcdsp, waves, metric halo, sonalksis) than the emulations. Granted I haven't really tried the ssl duende yet tho. Thats the only "emulation" plug Im interested in really putting through the paces. and the Massey demos werk from from the jump and are useable. They dump on all these free sound toys.

sony oxford...great sounding plugins.

have you try'd the waves ssl plugs?

2 me they are verry usable for a emulation.
i also have' not had a chance 2 hear a duende.

i now that most free plugs sound like ****.but i hear good thinks from the digital fishphones plugs. i stil have 2 test them.

yes...my reaction? eh. its cool. thats about it.
again, they are usable as plugins
im gonna echo defjamms sentiment, 'emulation' is the wrong word
even the liquid channel is lackluster and mostly useless. Sinteflex is kinda interesting, tho (as the original high-end emulation technology)...

this talk of toys is boring
aaaaand...im out, kids

these plugins sounds AWESOME.

this guy obviously isnt aiming to faithfully recreate these plugins 100%

he puts a new one up everyday..

and he doesnt even charge a cent..

these inject another flavor to my sonic recipe. you just CANT go wrong with more plugins

i will always find something each and every one works good on.

I am definitely a fan of the ModernVariME that looks like a vari mu. It sounds like a plugin I would pay for. It's nice. It is kinda reminiscent of a piece of manley gear.

edit : Wow these plugins really sound great.

# High quality processing.
# Up to 192 kHz sample rates supported.
# Set of powerful presets.
# Hardware-like GUI.
# Advanced PPM/VU/GR meters.

Where are the presets? I don't see them

I know these are free plugins, but I read on kvr where antress says he made them in synth maker. Does this affect the quality of these plugs?

I use other plugs like sonalksis, urs and waves, but for some reason I get good results with antress. Im not too concern with them not sounding like the real thing, but my drums do hit a little harder.
