Please tell us which is your to go sound-synthesis method...

When you start from scratch, which method do you like to explore mostly?

My own list goes like this:

Subtractive (more satisfying)
Granular Synthesis
Frequency Modulation
Addictive
Wavetable Synthesis (less appreciated)

...physical modeling, sample-based and real instruments aren't listed, but may be picked.

Thanks for the message here, I never start out the same way or use one method over the other but here is a list of my favorites lately.

1. Subtractive Synthesis (I would say I use this the most)
2. Additive Synthesis
3. FM/AM Synthesis
4. Granular Synthesis
5. Physical Modeling, Modal Synthesis
6. Digital Waveguide method
7. Cascade Synthesis – an approach based on a complex delay network that can ‘densify’ a sound up to 5832 times.
8. Wavetable Synthesis, love it but haven’t been using it much lately.
