Waiting for the Siren's Call

I was curious about how much pre-production Barney did on the songs for this album. Were they pretty simple demos coming in or was there a blueprint for where he wanted to go ahead of time? How much of it came about in the studio? What was your primary role on the album? Does your role change a lot from band to band?

Barney demoed everything before we went in. There were demo files and arrangements for all the songs (about 30 of them) and we worked on them. We edited, comped, re sampled, added and subtracted, did Hooky's bass and all vocals and some mixing. It took forever....I only did few tracks. Stephen Street did most of it.
