recordings or artists who are still surprising you ?

Hello Ken,
Thank you very much for sharing your valuable experience with us!

May I ask you if you are still surprised by some engineering techniques you've identified in current recordings or even by new artists in the bizz?
If yes please don't hesitate to explain how and why ?

Wishing you happy holidays,
thank you very much,

Hi, I guess I have two answers to your questions. Firstly, the constant use of auto-tune. I was used to working with talents that could actually sing relatively in pitch and with feeling. Both of these techniques appear to be lacking these days, but even the few that are talented are put through the same treatment and finish up losing out because of it. And the second goes right along with the first, the number of non talents, well maybe, just maybe, talented dancers that have successful recordings. They are not even expected to sing at a "live" performance. I remember ELO being sued for that back in the day. Come back Millie Vanilli all is forgiven.

The GOM has been awakened from his sleep.
