How are your experiences with mastering

Hi Ken, thanks a lot for your great work!!

my question: sometimes i guess that in mastering- the engineer worked out very fine and subtle details in the mix, and some guys involved in mastering killed them and so the very important "main/right feel" of the mix was lost - how are your experiences?

thx a lot and all the best to you

Hi Matt, On the whole I guess OK. A couple of instances that I wasn't happy with the finished results but I try and use people that have the same philosophy as me. As an example, I recently had to deal with a remaster of Crime and I just went back to the engineer who mastered the original version, Ray Staff, who is now working at AIR, and I think it turned out pretty well all things considered.
