I have a copy - I am dying to read it! Our friends at Tape Op Magazine are the publishers, so thats got to be a big recommendation right there!
"An amazing story, this is one of the finest memoirs of classic studio sessions one will ever read, with Phill's own personal story setting an arc across the music of the '60s to the current day. A must read for fans of music, studio rats or anyone curious about the changing culture of the music world. Click here: Are We Still Rolling? for more info."
Love your book. Bought it the first day I read about it in TapeOp. You are articulate, funny, honest, insightful, and humble. Thanks for writing such a wonderful piece.
Phill -
Got to say that your book is truly fantastic - definitely a page turner. What was so cool to see was how you could tie in all the sessions directly with growing as a person as well - the recounting of your families tragedy in the middle of the Stomu Yamashta sessions was particularly effecting. Your memory for detail is amazing as well!! Have no idea how you can do that, being someone who forgets what they had for breakfast, let alone what someone was wearing on a day I met them 30 years ago.
Anyway - thanks so much for your excellent writing and work to date (been obsessively playing "Laughing Stock" since reading your book) - and thanks so much for doing this Q&A!
