What (mixing) advice would you give your younger self?

Apart from growing a badass beard, that is.

The beard is a given.

Really, for mixing, the only advice worth giving is that the only thing that matters is what comes out of the speakers. That covers all of the things I could say about not working in solo, keep perspective, focus on the music blah blah blah.

The only other important thing is that while working on music is an obsession for most of us, never lose sight of the rest of your life. Way too easy to convince yourself that tweaking a mix is more important than a child's birthday...
