WesAudio DUE-PRE 500 series preamp

I'm very excited about our first 500 series module: DUE-PRE "color your sound"
WesAudio DUE-PRE 500 series preamp-wesaudio_due-pre_front2-001.jpg

Some info:

All discrete design preamp
Two modes of operation:
- Red - British classic style preamp (1073)
- Green - American vintage style preamp (discrete opamp)

- High quality Grayhill gain switch
- 64dB of gain (preamps are matched with 0.5dB accuracy)
- Carnhill in/out transformers
- 20dB input PAD
- 8dB output PAD (allowing saturation of both preamp and transformer)
- Polarity Reverse switch
- +48V phantom power
- Front autosense XLR mic
- Hiz Fet DI front input (the signal passes through the input transformer)
- LED VU meter

Module is hungry for energy. It draws almost 5W in critical situations.

More info on our website.

Cheers
Radek

Hey Wes stop screwing around with other products and finish that remote-controlled compressor! I'm saving two rack spaces for it but if I have to wait much longer a couple more AM660s are going in there.

I'm glad to hear that! How close is it to the production stage?

Aaargh, I was about to buy 2 Non Linear Audio Flexiguys. This thing looks like it might cover the same ground. Now I have to decide between them!

Any info helping me make that decision would be appreciated.

Just out of curiosity, what does that VLSI chip with pins on all 4 sides do?

Is is a main processor which manage the whole preamp as well as VU meter.

Do you have audio or video samples coming? I'm very interested in this & the Mimas (1176 style compressor). I have 8 empty slots to fill

Samples are coming but due to the Musicmesse preparation delay is more than possible

It's been released. $799ish. I've heard a total of zero reviews which is a shame because it's a smart idea.
