as far as bpm wise it is synced, I was just curious why it disables when I press play in my Ableton daw.

Patterns are triggered by midi notes, you need to put a midi note in a clip to trigger the desired pattern

Played with it for ~2 hours today while searching for reviews, checking out videos etc. First, it amazes me how much press they are getting for this. Next, is it me, or does it sound basically exactly the same no matter what sound you put through it? It's all digitally-glitchy etc - again you can do this with stutter edit... Overall I thought it sounded really bad and I can't see how it would be useful. I couldn't get anything to sound good.

I have an octatrack and yeah, it's a lot more expensive, but the whole micro edit thing seems like them trying to implement some of the cool things the octatrack does, just not at all well.

Looks Good but still it's better to use your own patterns.

I never have understood why people complain when new musical instruments don't do what the other ones do and does something else instead.

Definitely. It plays samples, but has a terrific synth for making noises, synth drums etc. Just watch the videos on the iZotope website. It talks about making your own sounds, which is one of the highlights of the plug-in.

This plugin is taking dust somewhere in my hd....

lots of hate for this plugin here. have you even tried using the microedit tension/rotate feature of the software? Think about the rest of the name breaksdude, "tweaker".

- I have been able to make some very impressive and organized glitches that are similar yet cleaner than top granular editing/synthesis, in a fraction of the time. They don't seem to have pops or ticks, just very fine editing and unique timing manipulation.

- Since I do sound design for a living, the production shortcuts that this plug provides have helped me get a great sounding drum element on a tough deadline.

- Though probably wont use just one of these for all your drum elements, it can save a lot of time adding percussive texture and chopped samples to your production.

- to me, this plugin is best for making percussive sound FX that are unique and custom built for the tempo of your song. Just make the tweaky sound, resample in daw, and you've turned your one crappy perc into a sick undulating freaky loop/one-shot
