Yeah, that looks super cool! Can't wait to check that out! It looks like fun, I guess I'll have to get some kind of ultra mobile rig together now...
Really want to try it, I hope there is some kind of demo.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember it being around $49 when first
advertised.

Good idea

The specs look pretty amazing and with something like the Duet i could imagine hotel rooms becoming the recording location for many new albums.

Same here, I was about to set up a mobile tracking rig
I see this one being useful

Anybody else likes the PSP strip and masterstrip plugins in there?
I mean, PSP makes good sounding stuff and these two would be
cool to have as regular plugins

There is already a few options out there for 8 tracks etc.. I think auria is about to bury all of the pseudo multitracks on iOS... Can't wait to see it!
Also I hope the app is successful, as it could push companies to solve the camera connection kit charging paradox???

The "multitrack daw" from harmonic dog has really served me well so far!! But this looks like a whole step or 2 better!! 50$, kinda steep, we will have to see, I guess. Not unreasonable if it really offers all it claims.
Really excited for this!

The question is can we use existing usb audio interfaces like Duet or whatever? Without a strong front end, this 24 track recorder would just be toy and not for serious use imho.

Looks like all core audio compliant devices should work. I.E. anything that will work on a Mac without drivers, us-800, rme ucx, a few others. There is a list on their site, and more lists online.
The other thing is power, some will need a powered USB hub if they don't have their own power supply.
I wish duet would work, but it isn't USB, needs power, and isn't compliant...
Been reading about this for a while now....

Damn it, I might buy this. I like to compose outside of my studio (bedroom) so this is just the perfect tool for that. Garageband is ok for really fast idea recording but I can't see that as a "real" composing tool.

How do you export or bounce tracks out of this, "final" 2-track file I mean, to e.g. USB stick?

Also I don't know how they get around the iOS limit of 8 simultaneous inputs... That and the fact that there is currently no charging solution for USB interfaces hooked up via cck...

I've been waiting for this app for months now. It's nice to know that the release is right around the corner, probably in the coming week.

I looked around their site, and I hope that they list a 2 channel interface that is compatible. There is not a single 2 channel interface that is compatible, according to them at the present time. I don't need or want more than 2 channels, and it would be a waste for me to buy some interface with a million inputs that's more expensive, just because it's compatible.

The following interfaces have been tested and are compatible with Auria:

PreSonus AudioBox 1818VSL - Up to 18 inputs
RME Fireface UCX - Up to 8 inputs
Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 - Up to 18 inputs
Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 - Up to 6 inputs
Tascam US-800 - Up to 8 inputs
Phonic Firefly 808 Universal - Up to 8 inputs (analog inputs only)

The following interfaces have been tested and are not currently compatible with Auria:

M-Audio FastTrack Ultra 8R
Tascam US-1800 and Tascam US-2000
Roland Octa-Capture
MOTU 828mk3 Hybrid
RME Fireface UC
Focusrite Saffire Family

I don't think that you can. Unless there's some third party device or connector out there that I don't know about.

One workaround is to have a few iPads.

Interesting... If I had 2 on standby charging, with auria on all three, they would have to have some sort of gobbler/Dropbox solution where the files update automatically from any one to all three, which would make this possible.
Maybe in the next incarnation of the iPad, the dock will change as is rumored with the iPhone 5, and will allow charging....

I asked that on their fb and the answer was that the lowest latency ios allows is 128 samples.
