After all these years, this in in my opinion still the best tape plugin.

I have no idea how authentic it is, but I love what it does and how its functions help to "sculpt" the sound. Unlike most - if not all -o ther tape-emulations, Bernie attempted to break down all what tape potentially does to sound into different functions that can be accessed and controlled individually.

So one could probably say this is also the most versatile, revolutionary, radical and thought-outside-the-box tape plugin.

Well done, Bernie! R.I.P.

Gosh I bought this years ago for about $15, if not less. I've hardly used it for some reason, maybe cos it wasn't seen as "sexy". Just dug it out, whacked it on some drums and wow, yes, it's fabulous. I love the different tape types as they all come with their own eq curves. It stacks up very well indeed with more modern tape plugins. Also, it uses bugger-all CPU which is great.

We really are spoilt these days with all the fabulous tape emulations available.

Edit
Also, IO should say that I think Magnetic II and Pulsetec EQ are two of the best plugins to ever come out of Nomad Factory. Bus Driver comes in close a close third, but those two really are the standout plugins of Bernie's career, IMVHO.

Nomad Factory was ahead of it's time. It's a shame there's not much coming from them anymore.

I'm using Magnetic II and I agree with others' assessments of its excellent features and tones. I also recently acquired e-Tube/Tape Warmer for $10 and although its quite simple it actually has some excellent uses as well. I love the way it tightens and thickens bass tracks. Great range of usable tones and for $10 it was a no brainer.

More coming from us (at Nomad Factory), guys! Got a new plug on the rails at the moment and we're currently working to port and update, add features, fixes any outstanding issues for all our plugs through a new framework. Since last year our dev's have released Bus Driver, Drum Tools, Analog Studio Rack and Garbage LSD (our most recent), and they released 5 new plug-ins for one of our other subsidiary companies Plug and Mix. Keeping busy...!

I only wish you'd finally get Magma into a working state...

that being said, when it comes to praising other NF stuff, I also think Echoes is one of the best analog-style delays - so easy to set up and it sounds fantastic.

Personally Echoes is the most used delay I have. It sounds great, is fast to use, can do very long synced delays (4 bars!). It may be old but to me it's just "right"
