Software Eventide : the Reverb 2016 Stereo Room and Omnipressor

This has been mentioned in the AES thread but in case some have missed it:

Eventide has debuted the Reverb 2016 Stereo Room and Omnipressor at the 131st AES Convention.

"In the first installment of a major initiative to bring its world class effects to the Native plug-in world, Eventide today announced the Reverb 2016 Stereo Room and Omnipressor plug-ins for AU, VST, and the new Pro Tools Native format, AAX.

Eventide first native plug-ins will be available through Eventide software dealers, and on eventide.com beginning mid-November 2011 at a special introductory price of $149 and $99 respectively."

Will there be any difference in sound between the Princeton VST version and the Eventide VST version?

I believe you'll find that is the Tdm price you are looking at.

As i stated earlier...."Eventide first native plug-ins will be available through Eventide software dealers, and on eventide.com beginning mid-November 2011 at a special introductory price of $149 and $99 respectively."

Now, as its not mid-November yet i don't suppose you will not find them available yet in their store.

Atb,
Graham

the entire anthology TDM bundle can be purchased from retailers for $900-ish

so, i hope they do some bundles of the native stuff.. even if it's not the all the anthology plugs.. maybe group 3-4 together that make sense as a package or even better let users design their own bundles or discounts for multiple purchases etc.

whatever they do i consider it all good news. eventide stuff is fantastic and having these in logic or live etc will be fantastic.

How are those plugins compared to the real hardware? Is it the real deal algorithms ? I've heard some people say it's not.

Says it will be out in mid-November, according to the first post. Give it a little time.

The GUI is identical to the older Princeton version which makes me wonder if it's the same coder.

The room reverb is not the same algorithm as the original SP2016 (of which only about 100 units exist). The source code of that algorithm (by Tony Agnello) was lost and Sergei Korolev (who worked for Eventide and Princeton Digital) had to emulate it by reverse engineering, though as he said, he didn't quite get there, but it was released anyway. The Reverb 2016 hardware does not use the original algorithm either (as said, the source code was lost), but it's obviously a better implementation, as it sounds much better than the plugin.

As for the hardware Omnipressor, it's analog.

Cool. I was talking more about the H3000 stuff in the Anthology bundle.

Well...i do not share the enthusiasm at all ;(

Eventide have been kind of a niche. Used by people who are more interested in effects than "normal".

Now they will become mainstream and will be used to death by "everyone".

Some thimgs are better of when they are well out of most peoples reach (inckudes me at the moment too)

huh? Eventide has been mainstream in the engineering/production world for decades and is a staple in most every studio.

Yes, I gotta agree. But maybe he means that they're only supposed to be in "real studios"?
