Need help from Mac user...

I purchased Valhalla Room a couple days ago, and upon using the keyfile
I come to find the gui has my name spelled incorrectly as registered
user. It sticks out like a sore thumb, and is the only thing I don't like
about my shiny new reverb. I let Sean know, and though he sent me a
new keyfile with my name spelled correctly, he told me that I had to find
and delete a file called, "valhallaroom.settings" before I could use the corrected
keyfile. I can't find it. I wrote Sean back about it, but no reply. I'm
on a mac. Can anyone find that file in finder and show me where it is?
Help would be appreciated!

Still looking for more beta testers. I want to make sure that the new reverb mode is a useful addition, as opposed to the other options I was working on.

Yeah, I need to do some checking out of the U-he synths in the next few weeks. They sound ideal for ÜberMod demos. And making music. heh

Izzi - I just sent you an email. As a Pro Tools user who has been affected by the incorrect plugin category bug (which apparently hits far larger companies than Valhalla DSP), could you give the new beta a quick run through and see if things are fixed for you? Thanks!

Hey Sean,

Installed the VRoom 1.0.9 (Beta) and so far... so good!

Plug-In now shows up in the "Reverb" PT category.

The short name displayed in the insert/send window is "VRoom".

An the new algo sounds fantastic!

Some other things I noticed:

After the install on my new set up, the installer places the older VRoom plug-ins in the trash. And on my older computer (PowerBook G4), the installer replaces the older plug-ins.

In Logic: The plug-in is still listed as 1.0.8 in the Audio Unit Manager but shows up as 1.0.9 in the VRoom plug-in GUI.

ValhallaRoom Updated to Version 1.0.9

ValhallaRoom has been updated to version 1.0.9. The changes:

  • Pro Tools bug fixes:
    • The plugin now shows up in the Reverb category, as opposed to Other.
    • The short name displayed in the insert/send window is "VRoom" as opposed to "Valh."
  • Fixed bug with early modulation in Dark modes, where a "pinging" sound could be heard with certain settings.
  • Fixed bug related to interaction between short predelay settings and high Early Mod Depth settings.
  • The MIX control is now smoothed, for improved automation on sends.
  • New reverb mode: Sulaco
    • Dark, somewhat sparser than other reverb modes, with lush modulation
    • Wide range of control over Late Size, to dial in tight rooms, huge spaces, and all sorts of things in between
    • Tighter stereo image than other VRoom modes, with Late Cross controlling the initial spread of energy between channels.

Great work Sean.
Sulaco is a nice addition to the Room palette.
Working on some sparse acoustic tracks, female vox, ukulele, cello, and some percussion.
Sulaco is creating some wonderful tight spaces with lush decay.

We bought vroom when it had like 4 algorithms? Now it has so much more, and we didn't even had to pay an upgrade fee! Sean is the best!

Yeah, I worked pretty crazy hours up until late last Tuesday night, getting a full-featured ÜberMod beta out to testers. Wednesday through Friday, I switched over to ValhallaRoom. 1.5 days building and testing new reverb modes (2 of which weren't that great, and a 3rd that became Sulaco), 0.5 day fixing various bugs, building the installer and sending things to beta testers, and 1 day fixing bugs from beta feedback and sending things out to all customers. I didn't get a lot of sleep during those 3 days.

I know these states of mind when the final stages of a project just eat you up, you don't sleep, don't eat, your brain has a very high oscillation, things around you become blurry...Then when it's all over you feel like having climbed the Everest and it takes weeks to return to "normality" whatever that might be...

This seems like an awesome reverb for the price. Ppl have been comparing it to RPverb which I like very much, I think if you incorporate a delay within this similar to RP's, which can be either inserted before, after or within the reverb itself, you would absolutely p*** over any competition!
I like the thicker, warmer sound of this plugin. Well done Sean.

Sean, just a little thing.

In Protools (9.0.3 MacOS10.6.6) Vroom parameters that have automation enabled do not update their displayed value when nodes are changed in the automation lane. The first time you click on a node it's value is correctly displayed, but doesn't change when moved.

Extremely chuffed with the results from your reverb by the way. Best thing I've bought this year.

Yes the 2016 vst emulation has been available for many years (since 2001 i think ?) it was made by Princeton digital it would appear eventide have only rebadged it the Gui is exactly the same.
