Here it is.

A simple video tutorial showing the new features in Roundtone v.2.0.0:

- Multitrack Tape Machines
- 4x oversampling

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcFXYxTMe1c

I suggest to look at the video in "expand" mode and not "full screen".

Enjoy

I watched it, but the quality, both sonically and visually, made it somewhat limited... and therefore wasn't that helpful.

BTW I'm not aware about what the "expand" is

If you follow the link to TouTube (instead of playing the video in the small box in the post), the player has some lower buttons. The second right-to-left is "expand"

Thanks, still it's too low quality for me... [I'm talking about youtube video-quality - not the plugin]

URS Saturation is a great plugin but for actual tape modelling this is a win.

As well since I haven't used URS Saturation in about a month, does it have machine mode now? Oversampling? Just curious. I recall there being some different saturation curves you can select in URS and then the input and output controls along with a mix knob.

Roundtone in its original set up. Had the Input, Output, Speed, Action and Emphasis controls along with the 7 different tape simulations. Now I believe the amount of simulations is going to increase along with the dry/wet mix controls and 4 different machine modes, oversampling controls and god knows what else the developer has in store. There's no hype about this plugin at all as far as I'm concerned. I'm a professional engineer who uses the damn thing. Hype mainly comes from the buzz developing around a product before its released or it is put out there by people who don't even use or own the product.

The people on this thread mainly are owners of the plugin, like myself and PSM.

Since we bought in, we get to comment and give the plug in praise. PSM comes from the old school tape world and he has experiences with tape that far surpass mine. I think this plug in sounds like real tape and so does he. There's no hype there at all. Sort of like the saying goes, don't vote, don't complain? Its $10 dude. Even if quinto doubles the price to $20 that's still cheaper than anything else I can think of payware wise. The next best thing to this plugin that's free is Ferric TDS IMHO. And it doesn't even do anything close to what Roundtone does.

Great work quintosardo!

PS I never evaluate plugins over youtube. I definitely wouldn't do it a hardware device either.

Would you buy a Manley Fairchild just based off of a Youtube video?

Cheers!

Peace
Illumination

Well, it works better than anything I've tried so far, that's for sure. It actually sounds like tape.

Really looking forward to the AU version--will buy immediately--is the price staying the same at least initially when that comes out in a couple weeks?

I thought on the previous page you said a few weeks for AU, no? I know there is Mac VST, but I'm on Logic and the free wrapper doesn't work for me.
