I just bought trigger and I've got to say - I'm blown away by all of the Slate products. I've got my pusher man trying to get a hold of a unit to demo because I wouldn't doubt that this is gonna be fantastic.
It's funny, I asked a question early in this thread what they exactly meant by the following quote, thought it was an interesting concept, that question was actually reraised two times by others. I guess they only have the stereo version for now or they just don't bother answering questions.

Estimated street for stereo is $1599, and mono is $1299!
We are so backordered on stereo versions that we are doing two production runs before we even make a mono (so we're looking at another month for mono that means)... but the mono looks like half the stereo but one side is just the artwork with no knobs or writing. It looked cooler that way rather than centering the mono pre.
I´m dying to have more info, samples and reviews. If this thing delivers(and having just played with a friends dragon, i´m sure it will), it will be the best deal out there. I mean, 1,700 for two channels of neve-ish pres is a good deal in itself, but having 4 flavors in one is just to f###ing much.
I was trying to save up for a juggernaut twin, but I think this will be just as good. I´m just starting my own collection of outboard gear and I think this is the ultimate first outboard pre.
First batch just shipped, and we've presold quite a few so I'm sure reviews will be popping up. We're doing a video (with audio samples) at the end of next week. We'll have comparisons with other great preamps for reference.
Here is a recording we did live on stage at Sweetwater where we recorded a vocalist and an acoustic four times with each setting on the FOX to show off the tonal changes in each of the four preamp circuits. Its 24bit files. This little dirty demo can really show the dramatic changes.. especially between the warm and moody Vintage circuit vs the clean and articulate Modern circuit. Keep in mind the "combo" circuits are combos of the Vintage and Modern.
Just gave it a quick listen with little ear fob head phones on my laptop...so, really can't tell a whole bunch - other than, that's a pretty dark mic...no hype on the top there...definitely kinda lean towards the modern...
