Yes, it does seem like they're turning thing around. In the not-too-distant past they where one of the most hated companies in audio. They seem to have worked out the major bugs in their software as well as their administration. I used to curse their name but it's been nothing but praise for over a year.

what the hell is Reaktor Prism? Or Reflektor? Probably new ensembles, I imagine. Curious....lazerbass is freakin' awesome in 5.5, would love to see some more new goodies.

as for NI's strategy with komplete 7, it's....meh. Basically "hey if we throw all of our pre-made preset libraries into the bundle, it'll seem new and cool..." Probably will work for them, too, but as someone who never uses the Kore player for anything (it's both far too slow loading most patches, and most of them aren't too my taste anyway) this update is blaaaand. I'm the sort of NI user who wants instruments, not rompler libraries. but then again, i'm already very satisfied with absynth5 and reaktor5.5, so I don't have much, if anything, to complain about.

I wonder what they'll do for people wanting prorated pricing for NI libraries they just purchased. For example, I was about to buy the new Scarbee keyboards... will NI take this into consideration when I go to upgrade?

I received my K6 update 2 weeks ago and haven't even opened the box yet!!

Grrrrrr......

If it's just more sounds, Im not fussed. But if they cut me off from software updates for Kontakt, Battery etc. then i'll be pissed.

A lot of peeps are sayings that it's nothing special because it's a bunch of libraries put together, but the Reaktor Prism and the Reflektor could be something huge ... at least i'm hoping so

Not likely... I am currently running the 3.5beta which is supposed to go live in a few days I suspect. So I wouldn't hold a lotta hope on 4 being available anytime soon.

Looks very interesting!

I'm very happy that Scarbee MM Bass, Scarbee MK1, Scarbee Clavinet, Scarbee A-200 and Abbey Road 60's Drums are part of Komplete 7!

Shame Abbey Road 70's Drums aren't in there too!

Hmm... Usually a new Komplete release has a major version update for at least a couple of the big programs.. for K6 it was Kontakt 4, Guitar Rig 4, and Absynth 5. Looks like they didn't want to wait two years for the next Komplete update again, which they did for Komplete 6.

The big "update" is surely that everything is 64 bit, which in itself would be a major overhaul!

I can only say I'm very glad I didn't buy any of these libraries on their own, like I planned on doing. I imagine this is going to piss off a lot of users.

Although in my particular case this upgrade is really nice, I am not sure I like that I can't predict what NI is doing next. I mean, should I buy any of their products and risking something like this happening? Maybe they realised that Komplete 6 left most unhappy due to the lack of new content. To me, that was the most boring software update I ever bought and even at half price it was pushing it.

Not really. I have plenty of MIDI controllers and synths with knobs/sliders that I didn't really need another controller. Sure the integration is probably great, but most can be achieved mapping out a standard MIDI controller.

What interested me the most was the ability to stack instruments and effects and play them as one. It was the one thing I loved most about Reason with it's Combinator module and Kore is pretty much as close as you will get in the DAW world to that kind of functionality. I only say close as I believe the way it's implemented in Reason is much simpler and streamlined. The joys of designing everything in house I guess.

It's a Kore pack : NATIVE INSTRUMENTS : HOME | HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE FOR MUSICIANS, PRODUCERS, DJS, GUITAR AND BASS PLAYERS

It's nice, but not groundbreaking, IMO.

Have some other controllers as well (like the novation remote MKII that I really like) but as you said, the integration with the Kore controller is great.
