They said about the price of a good cell phone, so my guess is about $350.

It should be available in 2006...

Hopefully these things will become a standard, and mas production will cause th eprice to plummet.

What's sad is that the keyboard is probably the most actively used part of our computers and yet has been the least improved or updated. Until now (of course, I'm not forgetting that bluetooth virtual keyboard: http://www.itechdynamic.com/html/border25.htm)

I hope to get an Optimus the second it's available. Until then, I'll stick with using these application-specific stickers on the keys:

They're saying 2006.

It's hard to believe it hasn't been thought of before!

I'm drooling thinking about mapping the Pro Tools shortcuts on that... damn.

I wounder if you can create your own Images, or words , and set up ,OR icon's...
... to be able to use it with Ptools, and make a custom icons,
OR get a custom prog. setup to add to the softwere, Like a sticker sheet.?
This thing is really beautiful tho, can wait for more info on it..

I think that's exactly the idea!! From their website Keys could be animated when needed. heh

I don't think I've ever been excited about a keyboard before... I have a problem.

When they first released the info on this thing I freaked out too but unfortunately when I looked into it a bit more I realized that it is only a concept. They have not actually built one yet and what they show is only a rendering. Its an amazing idea with so many possibilities but unfortunately it is still only an idea. I wouldnt hold your breath for one in the next year. I'm definately buying one when it comes out though.

I've briefly tried the Lemur, it's pretty interesting. As it was (before summer 2005), it seemed to be more suitable for synthesis type people than audio, the graphics and "feel" of use seemed so to me. Nonetheless, it seemed to be pretty easy to progran and use, so I'm sure there will be people using it if not already.
