When I look at myself, I use my Digi 002 for preparing some post work I finsh on an HD elsewhere, and for some demowork of my own music. Regarding that last, I want to record more than 4 inputs only on very few occasions. I don't want to invest in many high end preamps for those few occasions. Okay, the Digi preamps are prett noisy, but for the demo work I do for fun, I am glad there is a digi interface that can give me the possibility if I need it.

I do support the question of preamps that can bypass those gain stages.
What they should have done was make the trs inputs 9-16 so you could use them at the same time as the pre's.

Just want to make sure I understood it correctly (my English is just basic), you are saying that signals, coming through line level inputs, don't go through Mic preamps on 2626?

Thanks, Mive

Huh??

I think you're working on a triple negative there......

You mean, you don't understand what I'm asking, or you don't think other people understand what I'm asking?

If you're unsure, I was making mention that the first 4 inputs on the 002/003 go through the mic amp, whether in "mic" or "line".
It would be nice if all 8 line inputs on this new simple digi interface did not do so.

Hope that clears it up. thumbsup

The old joke:

"This food is terrible!"

"Yeah, and the portions are so small!"

The new joke:

"These converters are terrible!"

"Yeah, and they don't give us enough of them!"

That's never been a joke to me, because in both cases there is necessity (avoid starvation e.g.) before there is desire (gourmandaise e.g.)...

mooh..

Hi folks

is there any info about when the new 003 is going to hit the stores? I'm only 10 % opting for it but it'd be nice to read some reviews and stuff...

cheers

Doubt there's much to review - the only difference is 4 more pres, right? So all existing reviews of the 003 Rack and all of its features/sonics still apply. But there are four more pres. Woot.

A review of Pro Tools 8 will no doubt be forthcoming in many a website, magazine and what-not. Some of those might touch on the 003+'s existence/"features."

003 rack +

Ok you may scratch your heads at this question but I am going to ask anyway.
Has anyone ever successfully linked 2 003 racks together?

if you mean sync (2 daws, so two computers, one 003 on each)
that is no problem methinks, I used to run two 001 sets synced for mixdown to get 36 outs to my console. they lock via midi. you can also clock lock them with a spdif loop, but I compared that, coarsely on the phase meter of my console (same file on both daws, daw one panned hard left, daw two hard right) couldn't tell the difference in phase correlation between midi and spdif loop and just the midi, so I choose the extra outputs in stead.

multiple 003s on one computer, I bet you could hack it, but I've heard of noone actually doing it
