Hoping to fix vocals from cheap microphones.
Ive found a lot of uses. Lately I am using it all over drum tracks. I particularly like shaping snare drums with it. For example recently had some tracks with some dissonant ringing frequencies right above the fundamental, traditional EQ was too aggressive, dynamic EQ was taking too much life away even with very narrow notches, but Soothe2 kills for this kind of application. I didn't want/need to nuke these frequencies just tame them down so the deeper fundamental could come through louder. Dialing in narrow bumps in Soothe did it really quickly with very transparent results. Also can tame overly dissonant hihats to taste in overheads/room mics, and sometimes automating Soothe to turn on/off on particular crash cymbal hits if it gets too gnarly.
Also love it on acoustic guitar, usually just some subtle attenuation of harsher high freq's like 4kHz-10kHz type area, really helpful. Or Ive used it to help with occasional woofy frequencies on otherwise good acoustic tracks. One song I liked the bright acoustic for the intro, then automated Soothe on to dampen some highs and pick sound only when the vocals come in.
I also want to experiment with it more on bass drum or room mics, like low mid area.
