There are a few guitarists that remind me of how really, really bad at playing guitar I am and ever will be. This dude is one of them :(

Same. Also steer clear of Guthrie Govan -- he's so good it's depressing.

I guess I'm the only one underwhelmed with this amp sim. Gave it a try and to me doesn't sound any better or worse than the lot out there. Between the Neural offerings or something like TH-U or Helix Native, it doesn't offer much in the way of value. Also sound wise, it's pretty much too similar when you know how to set amp sims up to your liking.

One thing that really sucks though is the lack of flexibility. I get simplicity is great but you need to have some ability to move your signal chain around. Not to mention the noise gate is pretty much useless for high gain tightness.

Although you could kind of set your own signal chain within your host to your liking just using the amp itself but that doesn't help the stand alone version.

Just my 2 cents.

No, it's not just you. I thought it was great but not so great I wanted to plonk down $180 (including VAT). I really like the STL Tonality Andy James and felt that the Nolly didn't add much over it. It's great for sure, but it doesn't stand out in a field of amazing ampsims.

Having said that, the Archetype Plini I thought was pretty special and is on my "want" list!

Maybe Nolly can be skipped, but that's definitely *not* the case for Plini.

Completely agree.

Plini is today my most used guitar amp software. By far.

I like Nolly 's tones , more mix ready imho and the cab swapping option makes it more versatyle , but for real any serious GTR guy should get both imho .....

notice guyz as i stated laready that according to neural dsp , update is on the menu for plini .... to get it closeer to Nolly features witch will make it a beast !!

Has any Plini/Nolly user here tried the Virgo Acqua/Nebula plugin?

http://dibiquadroaudio.com/virgoamp.html

Subscribed, hoping there's a black friday sale (and seriously interested in their bass offerings...)

They're such different beasts that it's tough to compare.

Isn't the whole point of the Virgo plugin is that's it's ultra clean?

Yes, that's how it's marketed (and how it sounds).

Yeah, I thought so, which is why I thought it was a strange comparison

Not strange at all... Neural DSP is being touted as the pinnacle of amp modeling, as is the Virgo amp (or at the very least, both are considered to be significantly better than the competition).

Plini and Virgo both produce clean tones, we can compare latency, performance, feel... which one of them does the better job at their main strengths?

I mean it may be slightly apples to oranges to considering the style/flavors are different, but it's not like we're comparing fish to bicycles.

The confusion is confusing to me.
